Basketball Recap: Cheraw Takes a Loss

Cheraw lost against Las Animas back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cheraw Wolverines fell 57-45 to the Las Animas Trojans. While the Wolverines didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 19-12 in the first quarter.

Cheraw's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Las Animas, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cheraw will welcome McClave at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. McClave knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Cheraw likes a good challenge. As for Las Animas, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Crowley County at 7:00 p.m. Crowley County will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Las Animas surely won't give up without a fight.
