Baseball Recap: Cherokee Washington Comes Up Short

Cherokee Washington fell victim to Storm Lake and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Tornadoes, falling 13-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since June 26, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Cherokee Washington dropped their record down to 2-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Storm Lake, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.

Cherokee Washington wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-4 defeat against Sioux Center on the 13th. As for Storm Lake, they will take on Estherville Lincoln Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Midgets will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Tornadoes surely won't give up without a fight.
