Softball Recap: Amity Regional's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After a string of six wins, Amity Regional's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Cheshire Rams by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Spartans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Gabby Celozzi was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Amity Regional saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Cewe, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Amity Regional's loss dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Cheshire, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

While Amity Regional had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
