Cave Spring has gone 9-1 against Pulaski County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Cave Spring easily dispatched Patrick Henry on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Knights fell just short of William Byrd by a score of 2-0 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Knights have suffered since March 14, 2024.

Cave Spring saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abigail Bradberry, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Pulaski County had taken Salem down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Cougars lost 16-1 to the Spartans. The match marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Cave Spring has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Pulaski County, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cave Spring hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like Pulaski County struggles in that department as they've averaged .355. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Cave Spring skirted past Pulaski County 5-4 when the teams last played on April 4th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
