Football Recap: Durant Drops Highest Score of Season Against Freedom

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Durant). Their defense stepped up to hand the Freedom Patriots a 26-0 shutout on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Durant found their leader in freshman Lia Cobbs, who threw for 154 yards and four TDs on only 14 passes.

Durant didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Brylie Edwards.

Durant now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Freedom, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Durant Cougars challenge King Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Freedom, they will square off against Anclote at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
