Basketball Recap: Midd-West Takes a Loss

Midd-West was the 65-52 winner over South Williamsport when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Midd-West Mustangs fell just short of the South Williamsport Mountaineers by a score of 34-32 on Tuesday.

When it comes to explaining why Midd-West lost, don't look at D'Zani Coley. Despite the final result, he posted 18 points and four steals. That was a full 56.3% of Midd-West's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Chase Shattuck was another key player, putting up two points and eight rebounds.

Midd-West dropped their record down to 1-2 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for South Williamsport, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midd-West will face off against Montoursville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Williamsport, they will host Bucktail at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
