Baseball Recap: Wiggins Comes Up Short

Wiggins was the 1-0 winner over Highland when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday.

Alex Tarango spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wiggins saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carston Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Wiggins' loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Highland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5-1 record this season.

Wiggins is taking a road trip to take on Liberty Common at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Highland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sedgwick County at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
