Coahoma was sadly handed a defeat on Saturday, but Hannah Wells did her best to prevent it. Wells was dialed in as she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Considering she played a big game the last time she faced off against S & S Consolidated on Friday, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock. Wells has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

Even though Wells couldn't lead Coahoma over S & S Consolidated, she won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sadly, Wells' big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Bulldogs' 24-game streak of wins at home.
