Softball Game Preview: Southern Bulldogs vs. Glen Burnie Gophers

Southern hasn't had much luck against Glen Burnie recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Gophers at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Southern is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They came up short against Chesapeake, falling 16-0.

Meanwhile, Glen Burnie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 17-1 to South River.

Glen Burnie's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Southern, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Southern beat Glen Burnie 7-2 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
