Baseball Recap: Vanoss' Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vanoss). They put the hurt on the Atoka Wampus Cats with a sharp 13-7 win on Thursday. With that victory, the Wolves brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Tucker Miller, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Vanoss is undefeated when Miller posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-3 otherwise. Ryan Walters was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Vanoss' win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3. As for Atoka, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Vanoss will square off against Ripley at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Atoka, they will challenge Tishomingo at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Atoka has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
