Basketball Recap: Reid Albright Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Wilson Prep

With a playoff win on the line, Chatham Central rose to the challenge on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 win over the Wilson Prep Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted since January 17th.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chatham Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reid Albright, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Albright has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 47 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brennen Oldham, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 13 points in addition to seven boards and six blocks.

Chatham Central's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points over those games. As for Wilson Prep, they moved to 20-6 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Chatham Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 77-64 defeat against Southern Wake Academy on the 4th. Wilson Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
