Softball Recap: Bolles Bulldogs vs. Providence School Stallions
Bolles extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 3-17 in the process. They fell 12-7 to the Providence School Stallions. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Stallions from their previous meeting back in March of 2019.
Leighton Dostie made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleda Cashwell, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.
As for Providence School, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last five games.
On Providence School's side, Sophia Prather spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Summer Stearns was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Tessa Eckert was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
As of now, neither Bolles nor Providence School have any future games scheduled.
