Morgan proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 24) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Union Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since May 9, 2024.

Addy Cragun spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lexi Hardman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played.

Morgan has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Union, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morgan will challenge Grantsville at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cowboys will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Union, they will take on Ogden at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.64 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
