Basketball Recap: Five Straight Road Wins for Mulberry

Mulberry had won four straight road games dating back to last season and Lorianys Castanon Cruz did her part to make it five on Thursday. The Mulberry Panthers took their match with ease, bagging a 71-31 victory over the Lake Gibson Braves thanks in part to Castanon Cruz, who posted 41 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Mulberry's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Trynitee Pinion, who put up ten points. Those ten points gave her a new career-high.

Mulberry's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Lake Gibson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Mulberry Panthers take on the McKeel Academy Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Lake Gibson, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lake Wales at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
