Basketball Recap: Minnewaska Area Comes Up Short

Minnewaska Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 64-50 bruising from the B O L D Warriors. The Lakers were probably out for revenge after losing 72-58 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

It was another big night for Jack Gross, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards for B O L D. Gross' evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Penkert, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 19 points.

Minnewaska Area's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for B O L D, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Minnewaska Area has already played their next matchup (against Sauk Centre), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. B O L D will be playing in front of their home fans against Renville County West at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in B O L D's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
