Preview: Bloomfield Bees vs. Osmond/Randolph Hawks
Bloomfield is on a four-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Osmond/Randolph a five-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The Bloomfield Bees will take on the Osmond/Randolph Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bloomfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Bloomfield pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wakefield.
The losing side was boosted by Madison Abbenhaus, who scored 29 points. She scored a full 49.2% of Bloomfield's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Olivia Lauck was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Osmond/Randolph was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 39-34 to Creighton.
Despite the loss, Osmond/Randolph got a solid performance out of Sophie Gansebom, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Gansebom grabbed two or more steals.
Bloomfield has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Osmond/Randolph, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Bloomfield didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Osmond/Randolph in their previous matchup back in February, but they still walked away with a 44-40 victory. Will Bloomfield repeat their success, or does Osmond/Randolph have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
