McHenry and Jacobs are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Golden Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. McHenry's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Jacobs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

McHenry is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Crystal Lake South just ended the team's ten-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 5-2 to the Gators.

Meanwhile, Jacobs had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against the Hurricanes by a score of 7-4. Seven seems to be a good number for the Golden Eagles as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Jacobs' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-13. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for McHenry, their loss dropped their record down to 22-3-1.

McHenry took their victory against Jacobs when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
