Baseball Recap: White Castle Comes Up Short

If White Castle was feeling good fresh off their 16-5 takedown of North Iberville last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell 12-9 to the False River Gators on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-1 last Friday.

White Castle dropped their record down to 2-18 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for False River, their victory ended a 21-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-17-1.

Looking ahead, White Castle will look to defend their home field on Friday against Springfield at 4:00 p.m. As for False River, they will take on St. Thomas More at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Gators' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
