Baseball Recap: Baldwin-Woodville Comes Up Short

Baldwin-Woodville extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 7-13 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Croix Central Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Blackhawks have suffered since April 22nd.

As for St. Croix Central, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games.

For St. Croix Central's part, the team relied heavily on Everett Babler, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Babler has posted since back in April. Maverick Sullivan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Baldwin-Woodville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Croix Central, they will square off against River Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
