Softball Recap: Swett's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

Swett dropped their record down to 10-3 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost 22-9 to the Hercules Titans. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 22-9.

Selene Schlepp was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Dulce Rebolledo was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

As for Hercules, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7-1 record this season. The result was nothing new for Hercules, who have now won nine contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

On Hercules' side, they let Samaya De Alba and Jaida Flores run wild. De Alba got on base in five of her eight plate appearances with three RBI and two doubles, while Flores went 2-for-5 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI De Alba has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Jazabellaa Cabrera, who got on base in four of her seven plate appearances with one RBI.

Coincidentally, Swett and Hercules will both be playing Bethel the next time they take the field. The Titans will host the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Warriors will host them at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
