Soccer Game Preview: Lodi vs. Richland Center

The Lodi Blue Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Richland Center Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Lodi is headed into Thursday's match following a draw, the team's first since the 6th. Neither they nor Baraboo could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Richland Center was not able to break out of their rough patch last Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Aquinas, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Richland Center can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Aquinas are ranked 89th).

Richland Center's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. With that draw, Lodi's record moves to 7-3-2.

Everything went Lodi's way against Richland Center when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Lodi made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
