Harrison County is 3-0 against Grant County since September of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Harrison County Thorobreds will look to defend their home field against the Grant County Braves at 7:30 p.m. Harrison County will be strutting in after a win while Grant County will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with five losses in a row dating back to last season, Harrison County finally turned things around against Bourbon County on Friday. They secured a 38-34 W over the Colonels. The Thorobreds' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Harrison County found their leader in underclassman Karsyn Sumpter, who rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Those 136 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Sumpter. Jaxson Zink was another key player, rushing for 58 yards and a touchdown.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Harrison County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 298 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2023.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Harrison County's defensive line and their three sacks. Brock Sexton was especially locked on to Bourbon County's QB and sacked him twice.

Meanwhile, Grant County has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 15.5 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit two weeks ago. They were beaten by Rockcastle County 45-14. That makes it the first time this season the Braves have let down their home crowd.

Harrison County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Grant County, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
