Basketball Recap: Sweetwater Takes a Loss

Sweetwater lost against Southwest SD back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sweetwater Red Devils were outmatched by the Southwest SD Raiders and fell 74-25. The contest marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Southwest SD's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Soltero, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Shaun Verdida, who had 15 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Sweetwater and nudges their season record down to 8-9. As for Southwest SD, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Sweetwater will welcome Pacific Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southwest SD, they will head out to square off against Otay Ranch at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
