Basketball Recap: Patrick Henry Takes a Loss

Patrick Henry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a blow against the Honaker Tigers, falling 62-8. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while the Tigers are ranked 64th).

Honaker's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julianna Farmer led the charge by putting up 12 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Farmer has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Dani Whaley, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Patrick Henry's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Honaker, the win (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

Patrick Henry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 41-10 loss against Rural Retreat on the 7th. As for Honaker, they have also already played their next contest, a 72-24 victory against Marion on the 6th.
