Volleyball Recap: Kallie Wright's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northmor over Centerburg

If Northmor was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mt. Gilead on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Knights lost 3-0 to the Centerburg Trojans on Thursday. The Golden Knights have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Northmor took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-15, 26-24.

Northmor lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kallie Wright, who had ten digs and two assists.

Leading Centerburg to victory were Kami Turnbull and Molly Kain. Turnbull had six digs and six aces, while Kain had 11 digs and four assists. Those six aces gave Turnbull a new career-high.

Northmor's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Centerburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Northmor will venture away from home to face off against Mansfield Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Centerburg, they will challenge Fredericktown at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
