Basketball Recap: Michael Lynch Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Fulton Science Academy

Pinecrest Academy won the last time they faced Fulton Science Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Paladins managed a 61-57 win over the Mustangs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Paladins.

Pinecrest Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Lynch, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Lynch is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Nick Keyman was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 12 assists.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julian Edney, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Jason Beck, who went 7-for-15 on his way to 18 points and three steals.

Pinecrest Academy's record now sits at 2-0. As for Fulton Science Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Coming up, Pinecrest Academy will square off against Cornerstone Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Paladins' defense better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 68.1 points per game this season. As for Fulton Science Academy, they will face off against Johnson Ferry Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
