Volleyball Recap: Yulee Hornets vs. Atlantic Coast Stingrays
Yulee extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping them down to 6-10. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Atlantic Coast Stingrays. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stingrays apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2019.
Kaveri Harris paced Yulee's offense, picking up 26 kills. Harris got some help from Rylee Corcoran and her 28 assists. Mylie Breutzmann controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
As for Atlantic Coast, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since October 12, 2024.
Atlantic Coast found their leader in sophomore Guilia Moraes, who had 27 digs and one assist. Those 27 digs set a new season-high mark for Moraes. Morgan Williams also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
