Softball Preview: Haddam-Killingworth Cougars vs. Old Lyme Wildcats

Haddam-Killingworth and Old Lyme are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Haddam-Killingworth Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Old Lyme Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Haddam-Killingworth has three straight victories, Old Lyme has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Haddam-Killingworth can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They blew past East Hampton 13-0. Give Haddam-Killingworth's pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Grace Natanzon was incredible, going 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. She hasn't dropped below three RBI for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Caley Napoletano, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Old Lyme didn't have quite enough to beat Hale Ray on Monday and fell 2-1.

Haddam-Killingworth's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. As for Old Lyme, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
