Softball Recap: Tamarac Bengals vs. Greenwich Witches
Tamarac barely beat Greenwich the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bengals blew past the Witches 9-2 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Witches: they've now won five in a row.
Toni DeLorenzo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Makenna Ashe was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kenlyn Ferris, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tamarac kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive matches.

Tamarac pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Greenwich, the loss snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 16-4 record.
