Volleyball Recap: Sioux Valley Takes a Loss

Sioux Valley lost against Hamlin back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cossacks lost 3-0 to the Chargers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cossacks have suffered against the Chargers since October 4, 2022.

While Sioux Valley was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Hamlin's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-20, 25-21.

Leading Hamlin to victory were Jayci Trowbridge and Paxton Neuendorf. Trowbridge had 11 digs and one assist, while Neuendorf had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Neuendorf a new career-high.

Sioux Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for Hamlin, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Sioux Valley and Arlington will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hamlin, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Sisseton on the 9th.
