Softball Preview: Point Arena Pirates vs. Laytonville Warriors        
        
		
            
 Point Arena and Laytonville are an even 5-5 against one another  since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Point Arena Pirates will head out on the road to  take on  the Laytonville Warriors at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Point Arena has five straight  victories, Laytonville has five straight  losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
 On Friday, Point Arena had just enough and edged Credo out  14-13.
  Hattie Piper was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing four bases while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Andrea Spangler, who  went 3-for-5 with five  RBI, two  runs,  and a  stolen base.
 Laytonville played against Credo and lost via forfeit.
 Point Arena pushed their record up to 5-1 with that  win, which was their fifth straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Laytonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
 Point Arena took their  victory against Laytonville  in their previous matchup  back in April by a conclusive  12-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Point Arena since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
