Softball Recap: Montrose Red Hawks vs. Grand Junction Tigers
Montrose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 14-4 to the Grand Junction Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Hawks of the 17-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.
Abby Siegel was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.
Even though they lost, Montrose was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Montrose's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Grand Junction, their record now sits at 14-9.
