Baseball Game Preview: Newark Charter School Patriots vs. St. Elizabeth Vikings

The Newark Charter School Patriots will square off against the St. Elizabeth Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Newark Charter School is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Newark Charter School had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt MOT Charter on Thursday. The Patriots blew past the Mustangs 19-2. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Newark Charter School got a massive performance out of Patrick Chase, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Shane Connor was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Newark Charter School kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as MOT Charter only managed six hits.

Meanwhile, St. Elizabeth fell victim to Sanford and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the Warriors. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Newark Charter School's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for St. Elizabeth, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Newark Charter School was able to grind out a solid win over St. Elizabeth in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 8-4. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
