Baseball Recap: Westview Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Westview barely beat Fallbrook the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 14-7 margin over the Warriors on Tuesday. Considering the Wolverines have won five games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayden Hardy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Hardy was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Westview got a massive performance out of Eli Irvine, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Irvine a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Charles Jaskowiak, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Westview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win was the third in a row for Westview, bringing their record up to 10-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Fallbrook, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Westview will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
