Northgate is 8-2 against Mt. Diablo since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Northgate Broncos will take on the Mt. Diablo Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Northgate's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clayton Valley Charter on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 199th, while the Ugly Eagles are ranked 38th).

Meanwhile, Mt. Diablo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Las Lomas, falling 4-0.

Mt. Diablo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12-2. As for Northgate, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5-3.

Northgate beat Mt. Diablo by a goal when the teams last played last Thursday, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northgate since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
