Basketball Game Preview: Smith Valley Bulldogs vs. Excel Christian Warriors

The Smith Valley Bulldogs just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Excel Christian Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Smith Valley has 13 straight victories, Excel Christian has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

In Tuesday's Canine Competition, Smith Valley came out on top. They blew past Coleville 59-21 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 27 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Excel Christian played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Virginia City 74-28. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-16.

Smith Valley pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.6 points. As for Excel Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Smith Valley strolled past Excel Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 58-41. Will Smith Valley repeat their success, or does Excel Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
