Volleyball Recap: Durant Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Durant entered their contest against Bloomingdale on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Cougars came up short against the Bulls, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-16, 25-8.

Durant's offense was headlined by Sophie Settles and Gabriela Castro, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Isabella Bowen and her eight assists.

Bloomingdale had a senior duo take command as Ella Izett had 17 digs and two aces and Shelby Slein had three digs and three aces. Izett has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played.

Durant's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Bloomingdale, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1.

Durant has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Tampa Bay Tech on the 25th. As for Bloomingdale, they will take on Wharton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
