Recap: Liberty Hurricanes vs. Easton Area Rovers
Even though the Easton Area Rovers scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, the Liberty Hurricanes still came out on top. Liberty escaped with a win against the Rovers by the margin of a single free throw, 59-58. Given Liberty's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Rovers are ranked 365th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Easton Area still got an impressive performance from Ryan Cornish, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adonis Pompilus, who scored 11 points.
Liberty has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Easton Area, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.
Liberty's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Easton Area, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Blue Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st.
