Basketball Game Preview: Loveland Classical Lions vs. Denver Jewish Day Tigers

The Loveland Classical Lions just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Denver Jewish Day Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Loveland Classical will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.

Loveland Classical proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 28) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Lotus School For Excellence 59-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since February 7, 2024.

Meanwhile, Denver Jewish Day played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 63-37 to Golden View Classical Academy. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Loveland Classical will need to focus on slowing down Jackson Brooks, one of several Denver Jewish Day players who made an impact when they last played. He almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds. Brooks is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Solly Bielsky was another key player, putting up 13 points along with five boards and five steals.

Loveland Classical pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points over those games. As for Denver Jewish Day, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Loveland Classical skirted past Denver Jewish Day 48-45 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will Loveland Classical repeat their success, or does Denver Jewish Day have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
