Basketball Game Preview: June Buchanan Crusaders vs. Cordia Lions

June Buchanan is 1-7 against Cordia since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The June Buchanan Crusaders will face off against the Cordia Lions at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

June Buchanan is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were dealt an 86-38 loss at the hands of Jenkins. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 110th).

Meanwhile, Cordia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 70-33 loss at the hands of Leslie County.

June Buchanan's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Cordia, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-21.

June Buchanan suffered a grim 49-27 defeat to Cordia in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can June Buchanan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
