Strom Thurmond waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They slipped by the American Leadership Academy Patriots 37-36.

Among those leading the charge was Landen Jones, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was AJ Walker, who scored seven points in addition to five assists and five boards.

When it comes to explaining why American Leadership Academy lost, don't look at Payton Miles. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Makel Hillary, who earned five points and three steals.

Strom Thurmond is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for American Leadership Academy, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
