Basketball Game Preview: L'Anse Creuse Lancers vs. Grosse Pointe North Norsemen

The L'Anse Creuse Lancers will square off against the Grosse Pointe North Norsemen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for L'Anse Creuse: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Grosse Pointe North has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.

Last Monday, L'Anse Creuse didn't have too much trouble with Utica as they won 52-38. The game marked the Lancers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Grosse Pointe North beat Fraser 58-53 on Wednesday. Given the Norsemen's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Ramblers are ranked 436th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grosse Pointe North is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for L'Anse Creuse, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
