Baseball Recap: Downey Comes Up Short

Downey was the 5-0 winner over Gregori when they last played one another on Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Knights came up short against the Jaguars on Thursday, falling 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Knights have suffered since March 31st.

Downey saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryne Moore, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. The Knights are 7-1 when Moore posts two or more runs, but 3-10 otherwise.

Downey now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Gregori, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Downey will take on Ceres in a tournament on Tuesday. As for Gregori, they will be taking part in a tournament against Livingston at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.
