Baseball Game Preview: Edgerton Crimson Tide vs. Big Foot Chiefs

For the second straight game, Edgerton will face off against Big Foot. The Crimson Tide will square off against the Chiefs at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Edgerton is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Edgerton fell victim to Big Foot and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chiefs. Crimson Tide fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Chiefs since on Tuesday.

For Big Foot's part, not much got past Connor Weeks, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Edgerton off the board. Weeks also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Chiefs are 4-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Big Foot's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Josh Martinez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Big Foot and bumps their season record up to 7-11. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Edgerton, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
