Softball Recap: Independence Wildcats vs. Center Hill Mustangs        
        
		
            
 If Independence was feeling good  off their  18-3 takedown of Water Valley last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Independence Wildcats wound up on the wrong side of a  rough 14-4 walloping at the hands of the Center Hill Mustangs on Thursday.
  Lynna Wallace and  Kamiyah Stephens stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Wallace  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances, while  Stephens  went 2-for-4 with two  doubles and  an  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Madysen Cathey, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-1. As for Center Hill,  the  victory  made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 6-9-1.
 Independence will head out on the road to  challenge  Strayhorn at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Independence is facing Strayhorn at the right time seeing as Strayhorn is stuck on  a  five-game losing streak. As for Center Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Olive Branch at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Olive Branch is coming into the  matchup with four straight  losses on the road,  meaning Center Hill will have to defend against a  squad hungry for a  win.
