Football Recap: Lakeland Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lakeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 31-10 to the Deep Creek Hornets. If the Cavaliers were looking for revenge after losing 28-7 to the Hornets when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Deep Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Lakeland will host Hickory at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers will be up against the Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Deep Creek, they will head out on the road to take on Oscar Smith at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
