Recap: Tilden Blue Devils vs. Gage Park Fighting Owls

The Tilden Blue Devils were the 54-38 winner over the Gage Park Fighting Owls when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Tilden received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 58-42 to Gage Park. Tilden has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tilden's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jose Pacheco, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Pacheco hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Tavon Davis, who scored ten points along with two steals.

Tilden has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Gage Park, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6.

Tilden will be playing in front of their home fans against Instituto Health Sciences at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Instituto Health Sciences comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Gage Park, they will head out on the road to challenge Victoria Soto at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Victoria Soto is ranked 770th, while Gage Park is ranked 746th).
