Baseball Recap: Greenwood Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Greenwood hadn't done well against Hillcrest recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Eagles walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Rams. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Rams on Tuesday, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

The team relied heavily on Luke Godwin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Greenwood is 2-1 when Godwin posts two or more runs, but 11-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Landen Still, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Greenwood pushed their record up to 13-13 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Hillcrest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-14 record this season.
