Baseball Game Preview: Walkertown Wolfpack vs. Greater Vision Academy Lions

The Walkertown Wolfpack are taking a road trip to face off against the Greater Vision Academy Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Walkertown is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Walkertown's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Southern Guilford as Walkertown made off with an 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Wolfpack, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on David Olmedo, who scored three runs and stole Six bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Caden Joyce was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Greater Vision Academy had to endure an 11-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 13-8 victory over Liberty Christian on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Greater Vision Academy got a massive performance out of Seth Russell, who scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Krastyn Allred, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Greater Vision Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty Christian only posted an OBP of .458.

Walkertown pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Greater Vision Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Walkertown took their win against Greater Vision Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1. Does Walkertown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Greater Vision Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
