Soccer Recap: Hernando Falls Short Against Ranked Lewisburg

On Thursday, Hernando faced Lewisburg in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Hernando Tigers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lewisburg Patriots. The match was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Tigers couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Conner Couch, who's now up to four this season.

Hernando's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4-1. As for Lewisburg, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2.

Hernando will welcome Horn Lake at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Horn Lake will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Hernando surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lewisburg, they will venture away from home to challenge DeSoto Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
